Andy Munro
Director, proposal and capture management
Qwest Government Services Inc. (QGSI)
Andy Munro directs proposal and capture management for QGSI, headquartered
in Arlington, Virginia. He has nearly twenty years of telecommunications
background, including proposal management, program management,
sales engineering, and IT experience. During his career, Mr. Munro
has led winning teams that earned federal and fortune 500 telecommunications
revenue in excess of $2 billion. He currently provides direction
on strategic U.S. government bids including GSA Networx, Treasury
TCE, DATS, and others.
Prior to joining Qwest, Munro was vice president of proposal and
capture management for American Operations Corporation, where he
consulted to leading telecommunications providers. He previously
served as director of sales engineering and proposal management
for Broadwing. Additionally, he garnered valuable experience with
a wide range of service providers as the president and principle
consultant of Munro & Associates, LLC. His consulting engagements
included work with local (CLECs and ILECs), InterExchange (IXCs)
and international voice and data communications providers, as well
as software development and diversified trading companies. As vice
president of information systems and program management with Telegroup,
Munro managed all facets of product development, program management,
and information systems for a $350 million international voice
provider. While at MCI, Munro served as a leader and principle
contributor for multiple strategic wins, including FTS2001, DISN
DS/BMSC and FAA-LINCS. He also led applied R&D efforts to successfully
prototype a wide range of emerging voice and data products and
services.
Munro holds a MS in Astronomy from Swinburne University in
Melbourne, Australia, and a BS with honors in Political Science
from Charter Oak College in Connecticut. He has also completed
executive coursework at The Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
